Ghost Trick achievement is related to a book in the library if I remember correctly.

Just had a look at the achievement guide here on steam and it seems that the Gear Upgrade is kinda buggy since I did the required things but did not get it.

Thanks, I found both in a second game. Gear Upgrade can be found after the theatre in the new room. When you solved the puzzle with the 4 colors/symbols.
