Couldn't find any other threads about this issue specifically, but hopefully someone can help

So every time I'm in a game lately, if I press any button on the controller at all the game is un-playably choppy, like watching a slide show.

To be clear, this is NOT input lag. Simply, any controller use on the steam link causes big skips, chops, jumps etc.

I've tried different games of all kinds and the issue is the same. I tried both with xbox controller, and steam controller, all choppy. Even wired the controller to the steamlink and it was choppy. If I sit in game without pressing any button, animations appear smooth.

Was there an update that changed a setting or something? I was playing tomb raider just a few weeks ago with no problems. I wonder if it could be a problem with my wifi? Has anyone else had a similar issue?
