• The controllers are accessible by the user running Steam Link. I verified this by running "cat /dev/input/js0" and I could see output every time I pressed buttons
  
• On the launch

• I tried both the flatpak version as well as directly running on my system, both versions have the same issue
  
• The log output of Steam Link says that it found my controller and displays its button

It was my steamclient that my

xinput controller again and I can edit and use the desktop config.

I'm having some other issue related to Steam input but that happens even with without the Steam link so maybe it isn't related.
This kind
of started when I tried using a wired 360 controller via the link.. All controllers except my Steam controller defaults as the 2nd or 3rd input when using Steam input via link or without it..

Old topic, but this is apparently still a thing. I'm having the same issue.

Tested three PS3 controllers (all genuine Sony controllers, one of them being practically new) and they all showed this
behaviour. No problems with my wired 360 controller or keyboard+touchpad combo (wireless with USB receiver).

Just to be clear, this issue is already present in the Link's native menus, so it's not caused by

input from the controller. If it was TV issue I guess it would not work globally.

Opt out of steam beta on your host (pc) should fix it

Trouble is with Samsung and some sort of licence issues, that's why they don't support it so far. My solution is to connect the controller into PC via bluetooth, if it's near enough. That way the
input delay is also lower.
