Awesome job Sanvone, and nicely written. I was only going to skim it, but ended up reading the whole thing.

Amazing work. I wonder how many time you spent testing and writing that guide... Thank you very much Sanvone. This is a great guide for a great game.

Thanks for all the feedback I received so far.

When it comes to how long it took me it is quite easy. Something around 100h give or take (as I started around 200h in game and then only played MP sessions and when I finished I passed 300h).

Once we got more shortcuts in patch it speed up things considerably though. So clickig through 300-400 was way quicker.

I sure hope my opponents have not studied this guide.

Question... The Iron Foundry you mention as necessary for a couple of military units, is that an upgrade of the foundry or is it a separate building? and what's required to build it?
Sanvone 3 Dec, 2017 @ 11:21am
It is upgrade from foundry. If I remember correctly it also requires maximally upgraded settlement before you can build it (on top of technology). Which can quite stink cause getting over 100 population takes some time.

You mention that Trained troops are good for putting down rebellions.
Just to verify... Are Trained troops less likely to join rebellions? Is it true that only armies led by the Faction leader and/or the heir are immune to joining a rebellion?
Sanvone 8 Dec, 2017 @ 8:06am
Trained Troops don't join rebelions.

And yes only faction leader and heir grant their stacks revolt immunity.

Thanks!

Another question that's not entirely clear even after reading your guide...
Can one change studies midstream?

e.g. If I begin researching Horse Archery (Because I've not completed the prerequiste of Yin and Yang for Hot Cold Theory) in turn 58 When Yin and Yang is finished in turn 63 will I be able to switch to studying Hot Cold Theory without losing any of the progress I've made in Horse Archery?

Yes. All progress on research is saved on turn basis.
Havan_IronOak 10 Dec, 2017 @ 10:50pm
Super! Thanks for verifying that.

Another clarification...
The way I'm reading it adding your FIRST Vassal add 1 to your authority
And adding your third vassal adds two more to your authority.
does adding your second or fourth vassal add ANYTHING to your authority?
Is it +1 per vassal with an EXTRA one-time bump at 3 or is 3 the total authority you can get by adding vassals, no matter how many?

Also, why do you have those listed as temporary? as long as they stay vassals, don't you continue to have that authority? or does it fade over time?

An additional question about Vassals.
If I give them a city that has irrigated and/or terraced farms and they've NOT got the tech yet, will the cities fall into chaos?
