Low FPS?

When I first got this game it ran fine, a constant 60fps. But about a week ago I tried launching it and the game can't even get above 24 fps. This has persisted ever since and is making the game incredibly frustrating to play, like playing the whole game in slow motion. Does anybody know how to fix this?

So uh, what changed inbetween those 2 scenarios? Maybe reinstalling could fix it?

Alternative: Make sure you run the .exe program in the game files as admin, some DirectX and/or similar game support sofware might get blocked or skipped if you're on windows (windows pls). It's happened to me with other games that are just an .exe so it could be the case. If not, check stuff like monitor refresh rate, settings, drivers, or ask someone else.
