Game does not detect controller.

Hello, I recently purchased a faux xbox controller from GameStop for the purpose of playing platformers, and while I've run into some issues with other games MSF doesn't recognize it at all. It's a nondescript 'PC Advanced Controller' controller labelled MODEL: SF-6810V-BK01, some cheap junk made in China which GameStop puts out with their own brand name on it. Any suggestions as to what I can look at to solve this? It works without issue in the Xbox 360 Controller Emulator, MSF doesn't exactly have a wide range of options or config files so I'm not sure where to look.

Quick googling tells me that controller is super cheap indeed and is basically generic DirectInput controller.
Game supports XInput only and I actually did ask Wayforward support about DirectInput controllers including Dualshock 4 and basically got generic "nope, but thanks for feedback" respond.

What you need is XInput wrapper, which translates your controller commands like they would come from wired 360 controller. Here's list of few possible programs,[pcgamingwiki.com] I have personally used x360ce couple times and it worked with this game as well.
