Google Cardboard?
Will this application work with google cardboard, I already have an application that streams my screen via 2 screens to my phone, so having connectibility to my monitor is no problem. Does this application REQUIRE detection of oculus or vive or is it any form of head tracking such as my google cardboard headset does. I love how this app looks but sadly vive and oculus are out of my price range. Thank you~

Guy, how could you keep a famous starlet like Jennifer Lawrence hanging? (jk)

It does require an HTC Vive or Rift. It will not work with Google Cardboard as mentioned in the FAQ.

What about Samsung Gear VR? It's powered by Oculus, after all... :D

No? Serious?

Dev, obviously you managed to get an SBS output out of steam games and movies. Fantastic. And now you LIMIT IT TO "real" 3D glasses like Vive and Oculus? Why? So many people out there use a cardboard with a high res phone like LG G3. And thats enough to test and play around, until real VR gets better and cheaper. Your software could be the solution to use much more games - because 3D vision doesnt have SBS output (who the f.... knows why), and tridef is overpriced and outdated. And Trinus VR is just not good enough.
Why dont just include a simple SBS output which then is streamed to a phone? I just dont get it !!

I think the same.A simple SBS would be enough. The community will do the rest.

The dev his trying his best on the product he made. He's made no promises to anyone asking about google cardboard and it isn't his responsiblity to go out of his way BEFORE he releases the product to appeal to two people. Regardless of the google cardboard not being able to work I'll still buy the product and wait for either a mod or an update to release a version for cardboard. He has an audience in mind and he's doing his best to release it to the audience he chose, no reason to get mad.

You're complaining that a program on Steam won't run on your phone. Maybe you should be asking cellphone developers to make something like this, or perhaps Google themselves.

Honestly, some of these comments are outright idiotic and whiny... They've got to be a couple kids in their mom's basement. One guy whining that it isn't free, another that it doesn't work with Google Cardboard, Seriously? WTF? Dude, get a J O B and save some money up and buy AN ACTUAL VR HEADSET.

Hmm hard words. I am delighted that i maybe can clean up some mysteries in your brain.
I have a family. Have a good job. Know a lot about technical things. I will share some knowledge with you.

PSVR has about 386ppi, Rift and Vive about 433ppi, my phone 534ppi with nearly the same display size. (Maybe the Rift and Vive a little bigger, which will result in a smaller ppi)
Google Cardboard or his pendants of plastic are much cheaper and if you have a phone like me, they will have a much cleaner resolution than the "actual vr headset".

There are reasons to buy a rift or vive for sure, but for me there is no reason to pay 700+ euro for that. I had HMDs like that on my head, about 15 years ago and they aren´t a revolution. Except room-scaling, that is really nice.
Yes, they have a faster refreshing rate and they have a nice room-scaling but i could use it maybe for one or two hours a day and thats not enough for this price.

With including a mode for people who don´t want to buy a rift or a vive, he could arrive much much more people.

I respect the decision of the developer but i can not understand why someone will lose market share when he could have a monopoly.

I hope i could help you to kill words like idiotic and whiny from your vocabulary.
I am sorry if i wrote some things wrong. My grammar is not the best.

Okay - strap a google cardboard to your head to use your computer. Just ridiculous. You know technical things? Then you'd know google cardboard runs on ANDROID. It's like expecting virtual desktop to run on a blackberry, Apple iOS, etc.

Wow, the stupid is strong in this thread...

You realise that Oculus and the Vive don't use the Windows OS either? They are just a screen plus sensors...exactly like a smartphone.

The only reason this software is not available to connect with smartphones is because Valve can't get any money out of that.
