Bug: Game won't open?
Hi guys,

Had a great fun time playing this for a few hours last night, but I came home to what I guess was a small update? Anyway, the game doesn't work now. It appears in the taskbar but I can't switch to it at all. I've un/reinstalled and verified cache.

Is anyone else having this same issue?

Thanks.

The update only changed the way ribbons are counted and which ribbon animaton(s) play at the end of the level. Maybe the problem is Steam related?

The game opens now at least, but all I get is a black screen (and opening the Steam overlay will smear the visual on the black screen).

Well that sucks. Guess I'll keep trying! Great game.

That's perhaps graphics driver issues? Maybe those auto-updated?

Unfortunately none of my drivers have updated for a few days now.

I can hear music and button presses when in the game, but I try to alt-enter to go to windowed and it crashes: http://i.imgur.com/FIjtvpO.jpg

Are there any config files with resolution options I can ♥♥♥♥ around in or something? I've ruled it out as a Unity specific problem as other Unity games work fine as well.

Yah - that screenshot looks like Windows, so try deleting the registry entry for Paint it Back, which is at HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/CasualLabs/Paint it Back. Your game save is saved somewhere else and also in Steam cloud so you shouldn't lose anything. Then run the game again.

Uh, that worked! Thank you! :) Not sure why that happened, I left the resolution options all the same the first time I played.

Glad that worked!
Could have something to do with using alt-enter to toggle windowed/full screen. Will investigate.

I should mention I only did that once the game stopped working. The first time I played it worked perfectly.

Having a similar problem. About 15-20 minutes into playing, the game caused a BSoD, upon the automatic reboot that followed, the game shows the same symptoms as described above.
Deleting registry entries, reinstalling and verifying game cache do not solve the problem. Nor does manually altering the registry values.
Installed new graphics drivers AFTER the fact, still no dice.
Any ideas?

Were you in the middle of painting or in some other screen?

What platform you on?

What do you mean by platform? 'cause the only applicable answer I can think of is x86, and that doesn't make much sense either.

/EDIT: Unless you mean Operating System, in which case it is Windows 10.

Some ideas:
- The usual graphics drivers related issue...too new, too old.
- Windows 10 and Unity 4.6.5 (the version the game was built with) incompatibilities, although I haven't had issues here.

Not sure why if it worked before it wouldn't work again when you delete the registry entry and re-install. Delete the HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/CasualLabs entry and try it.

Sadly, deleting the registry entry and reinstalling does nothing.
I'm not familiar enough with Unity to troubleshoot it, sadly. Are there any Unity entries added in addition to your game specific ones?
