Did you take a look at the F1 help yet? It shows in the right toolbar and has a marker when new stuff has been encountered. If you have already gotten a villagers, you probably got a ton of stuff in there already.
Most crafting table hint at what they do in their short description, though the first one can do a lot. It basically crafts everything that is not done by the others tables, including all crafting tables, furniture, basic weapons, basic crafting materials and creature capture gems. Besides that one, the anvil + furnace is probably the most important at the start to get new gear and maybe the middle ages cauldron to make some advanced food.
It is probably easier to ask about a specific table that you don't know the use of
First make a full tin armor set so you can easily dig and find ores.
Then plant some seeds and especially wheat (you have seeds in a chest on the windmill) so you will be able to make food easily, and get chickens.
Next step is improving the anvil (last tab), optionally you can go through the desert dungeon to get a hammer used to improve the anvil easily.
Equipment levels are locked behind some materials. You can find hints for one of the first boss easily just by exploring the surface (you have some weird green flesh blocks on the ground, just dig).
This is the most common order when starting a run, but you can just try to complete random objectives on the completion tree (R on the crystal, or the tree icon under the F1 icon).
Don't hesitate to go on the discord for more help, or if you are stuck.
