Feeling salty

I surmised what I needed to do to assemble the pieces by noticing "missing" floors and talking to the elders, but blew through all the mattocks I could afford trying to find the right spots. Crestfallen, I visited the dragon just to see if I could kill it, but I couldn't. I suicided there. That was the furthest I'd ever gotten, and was a smooth run.

While it is annoying when it happens, and ideally it would get fixed at some point, not sure it is something worth crying over.

I feel sorry for you. It's your very first run so very far and you couldn't finish it!!!1!!!one!!! Oh that is so sad, and it's very likely you won't restart again. Congrats.

At least you're far enough to get some stones out of it... perhaps they can be useful one day, in future runs... (for other people, of course).

In case you missed my point: it's fine to restart in this game. It took me many runs to finish the game, and those failed runs are just as fun as the completed runs. In the meantime, collect those stones you get from bosses, you might need them later (and they stay with you even when you die).
