The game freezes while battles or loading the next turn.
I ran into a specific problem because after looking through this section looking for answers, I didn't find anyone else with a similar problem.
Previously, it seemed to be that my game was running in full screen mode, as evidenced by the brightness in the game itself, which was higher than on my desktop. (I might be wrong) However, recently it feels like it switched to windowed mode on its own.
Also, if I click on the "Next turn" button, instead of showing me where and how different units are moving, the game just freezes after a couple of seconds. A similar situation arises during battles between units if the battle lasts more than two or three seconds. At the same time, my brightness changes to the one that in theory should be in full-screen mode, and the mouse cursor changes to loading. However, this freeze is not permanent, it brings me back to the game again around the same time when all the units of other civ`s should have finished their movement. But anyway, It really interferes with play and literally pulls you out of immersion.

I've encountered issues like this before. Are you clicking on anything after hitting next turn? That can cause a hanging issue that freezes up the games visual display (as Windows treats the program as unresponsive since you are locked out of taking actions). Try using spacebar to start the next turn, then making sure not press any buttons/click on the map during the other players turns and see if that fixes the issue.
I know this one too. I had exactly the same thing before. However, the game previously did not freeze when loading the next move. Now this always happens.
I have likewise had this start happening out of nowhere. Literally one day it didn't, and now today it does. It doesn't seem to be related to being late in the game either, because even on the first few turns it takes about 15-45 seconds to load the next one, longer than any of the other civ games (this early at least).
Has anyone found solution to this bug? Every time my units are fighting after 2-3 seconds loading circle appears and then it skips to the beginning of next turn. It does not seems to be related to the game period and amount of units on map.
Same issue here. This is my first time playing it on Windows 10 - previously played it on 7. I'm going to guess something in a recent Windows update has caused the problem :(

Edit: Just fixed it by changing conquest exe compatibility to win 7
