Wayward Terran Frontier: Zero Falls

Wayward Terran Frontier: Zero Falls

This topic has been pinned, so it's probably important
Remember to set "Zero Falls.exe" to use dedicated graphics
I just found out that I had been running the game on my integrated graphics rather than my GTX1050. My life has been a lie, from a stuttering 15-20FPS to sweet sweet 60+.

The game will default to using integrated graphics, so you will have to manually switch it over in your graphics settings application (for example, NVIDIA settings or AMD catalyst control center)

And go to "Program settings"(Nvidia) "Switchable Graphics"(AMD)

and add the program "Zero Falls.exe" with the setting "Use high performance NVIDIA processer"(NVIDIA)
or "High-Performance GPU"(AMD)

What are the game's shaders made in? I always thought with D3D it was the program's job to query the supporting devices and pick the one it wants. I mean, I know NVidia has software for overriding application choice, but still.

dunno if its a driver issue but the AMD settings menu seems to no longer have the "additional options" thing

It's a thing if your computer's drivers decide to do it wrong. If WTF detects that your computer has multiple graphics devices, it says so on the main menu, along with which device it thinks it is using. If that device is not your dedicated graphics, then you'll need to tell your drivers to send WTF to dedicated. If the main menu already showed your dedicated graphics, nothing needs to be done.

I've also notice a .NET exception when the program tries to go full screen. I'm sure the dev is aware at this point.

The NVIDIA info is a bit dated but step #2 seems to have worked for me fine.

the easiest way to avoid all of that would be to simply disable your onboard card entirely,
i mean it's not like you'd actually need an internal card if you got a real card anyway.

Do you know the configuration in the new AMD adrenaline edition?

I never seen this in any other game, will this be fixed on full release so customers don't have to mess around with stuff?
