2. You floating around because you did not follow the game instructions in the tutorial area.
3. After respawning at the base, there should be a dialogue telling you how to launch your ship, I'm assuming you didn't read it.
4. When you leave the station, there should be another dialogue telling you to go to the mission destination, I assume you didn't read it either.
5. What did you expect coming straight out of an airlock? you're walking into space.
6. What makes you think you can land at base by pressing V million times?
Maybe you shouldn't skip all the stuff that teaches you how to do things properly?
Lets go down the list you made:
1. I already destroyed all the targets because I wanted to be over with the tutorial already, it bugged out and expected me to target one when I already destroyed them all.
2. See above.
3. In the old version of the game it used to be visible when you checked the targeting counsel or if there was no ship you had to build one. There was no visual representation of a ship anywhere to be found so I had no way to even know I had one. I spent time trying to mine crystals to build one. After that I went back and just pressed F in the new dock and magically showed up in a ship I did not even know was there. When I left said ship to figure out why that happened and where I could see it I died when I left the air lock. The old version of the game you could walk between the air lock and the base with no problem unless you undocked. Now you cannot and there was no explanation of this.
4. Not applicable, see above.
5. See above.
6. The game told me to press V when above a landing pad. It did not work.
You end up in the mess you created, you tried, but in the wrong way.
I think the game should allow you to skip the stupid long tutorial to check out all the new game features. I played enough of the game I dont need to go through all that again. I just need to look at the hot keys and see what I need to do. I dont want to spend 30 min doing the same tutorial I have already done in the past.
3. You should learn the changes, and maybe read the text in the dialogue.
4. & 5.
I can only assume this is a result of you refusing to follow the game's instructions and causing events to glitch.
6. No, it tells you to lock onto the target destination with the TAB key, then press V.
It does this when you respawn at the base. It starts telling you new things with new instructions, but you skip them all.
3. I like to learn by doing and already know most of the game. I did the tutorial a long time ago and its 90% the same. I dont want to read the same dialog again and again for the one new sentence that was added.
4-5. There was no graphical representation of the ship period. NO choice as to what docked ship I want to board. No explanation that you cannot exit via the airlock anymore.
6. That one I will admit is my fault. I was annoyed and impatient to get through it so I can play the actual game.
If you don't want to go through the battle/flight tutorial, why don't you just press ESC and click the respawn button???
3. & 4. & 5.
that's the new thing you need to learn but you skip it.
already explained in my previous post. you should read it again.
I also did not see in in the tutorial as the tutorial is buggy (at least for me) just kind of figure it out
i still don't know how to assign crew to gun stations , all i got from the tutorial is how to command them to move around
I don't even know if i can change my crew's weapons but i am learning on my own
1. the tutorial is not quite well atm because it doesn't integrate the new function with the old one.
2. that's the way to command your crew, move them to the gunnery console.
3. you can't change their equipment.
You order them to operate the console and they move to their post, no bug there.
1. I can see them just fine.
2. I can get back to the ship just fine. (unless I intentionally mess up the tutorial)
Maybe you should try creating a new world and then follow the tutorial.
Because if you follow the instructions, all of the above scenarios you mentioned seem unlikely to happen.
To be fair, as much as you're right on paper, that's what i did diligently on my first try
The game spawned me with 2k instead of 100k, the shops were empty, the game told me i successfully bought a ship because i interacted with the logistic map, and then told me i should pick up a mission and there were none
I had to figure out it was completely bugged and restart, after spending an hour wondering what i was misunderstanding
That's not exactly a good first impression, no matter if it's EA or not, after all this time the tutorial for new players should at least be functional and rock solid
