Wayward Terran Frontier: Zero Falls

edited a ship to add an extra element to it but now the guns don't work
I edited a ship , added a drop repair to it , but now the turrets (that i did not change) do not work any idea why ?

well the details are , the same exact ship that works in game , except i added a drone repair to it
The guns work without the edit so i am wondering if there is anything that needs to be added or if something happens when you enter edit mode (do guns get disconnected ? )
The power supply seems to be enough
Not sure what else you need but asking me for the details would help me
as for the screenshot , what do you need to see ?

Well, you would've had to modify the power distribution to provide power. Which means you potentially did not reconnect a wire.
The most likely cause is that you messed up wires and didn't notice - but without seeing the power grid nobody can answer your question.
Other options include deciding to place a different type of selector for repair and adding it to the bridge, perhaps it has a hissy when there are two - I've never tested.

Generally speaking there isn't enough room in most ships for you to just add something in. Often you need to remove other things to make room.

Maybe in adding this drone module you accidentally, without realising, removed something vital. Such as turret rails or command nodes. Being able to see what you've done would make diagnosing the problem so very much easier.

i checked and i did not disconnect any wires it was just a very large hull and there was some room that was the right size

i see ' ill try to get a screenshot of it , i did not disconnect anything just added something and i also added some cable connectors (i forgot what they are called)
i was not clear enough in the orginial question so i'll explain , i was asking if this was a known issue (so i won't start investigating what went wrong if its just a known issue with the early access build)
i apologize for not being clear enough on that , sometimes you start writing and you have this conversation you did in your head and you start writing form that point (at least that happens to me from time to time)

LOL well i did not , i tested it again , created a new ship from another ship , removed one components (Sensor) since it had two , made sure to re connect all the Electric connections so nothing is disconnected , saved the ship , created it in the logistics window and BAM, no weapons are not being controlled from the Cockpit anymore

Just to eliminate it as a possibility, but did you remember to put weapons into the turrets?

maybe i missed something
i even tried editing it and building a new one with a control room , when i am in the editor and i hover over the bridge or the control room i see lines connected to each gun
EDIT: i removed one of the wepaons and choose a new weapon just in case made sure to connected it with wiring and electricity (and trackers for some reason)
but nothing , no weapons i can't control them even through the control room
F12 didn't work for some reason i'll take a pic of it tomorrow hopefuly (if the kids allow me a couple of minutes :) )

You said you added a repair drone and suddenly all the turrets stopped working,
then you also said you tried another ship and you only removed one sensor and again, all the turrets stopped working.

However, the turret mount has nothing to do with the drone or sensors.
You didn't reveal all the details you actually removed/added to the ship.

The conduits only affect power distribution, not turret control.
Even if the turret has no power at all, the turret will still rotate with the mouse cursor(if they are not fixed-mount).

You also said the gun was working fine before you made the changes.

So the problem is simple, like I said before, you did something wrong and you didn't realize it.

A pic would tell a thousand words but also show 2 pics, one of the design and one of the completed bp thats in your inventory, that should narrow down the problem alittle more... Or use steam's gameplay recorder (in beta) and recreate the changes to the ship design but hopefully the pics will be enough.

intresting, does this mean i can't create a ship with weapons already on it ?
because in the editing view i choose a weapon for each mount from the weapons i had on me , i though it mounts them when i create the ship
that would make all of this conversation completly irrelevant as it seems i simply misunderstood the process

ok , i am glad i asked i feel like a complete tool , i misunderstood the process
Thank you very much for your help , i couldn't find any reference in the discussion on how to add weapons
