Story enemy 70k km away

I was doing the mission where you have to destroy 9 bases and then Budd/Greg comes out and kills you. After that death the quest seems to have bugged out and that ship now seems to be 70 thousand kilometers away, which seems prohibitive. I checked the location where they should be and even destroyed some more bases, but while I get the dialog that he's coming for me, he's not there.

yeah but it's not actually there. i think this is another issue with random. It's returning 0, so you're getting 0,0 coordinates.

I had the same bug. Build yourself a fast ship, best equipped with missiles.
Go to coordinate 0,0. Bud and Gregg are there. Take care as both ships are gliched in each other.
After one is exploding, the other one pops out of nowhere and starts missiling you!
Use Warpdrive exploid to evade the many missiles which will coming towards you.
