Higgs, Areas not loading, Save state
First I like this game a lot, but some of these bugs with the new resource stuff are not cool.

So the Higgs. Im flying back home with a courier rather full of ore. A trade run early on into the game most of my resources in my holds at that point. Feeling like i'm about to make a leap or hop at least. Hit the home sector, over shoot the base a bit as I cut the Higgs drive out. wait wait a good 30 seconds pass with no visuals in space or radar contacts anywhere. then POP. All comes in and my ship loads up right in the darn middle of an asteroid! Not that fair to avoid invisible obstacles. So logic says oh crash the game it should reload like at the last station I was at. Not true. If I am not able to see things in space materializing right in the center of one is not cool. This might be avoided in a few ways. Things loading up better, Higgs Drive shunting you to not the middle of a rock but near by, or a better save state and save scheme. Even a Higgs lag where you are intangible for a bit, can't fire only move for a few seconds. This is like fast traveling into the center of a horde or off a cliff, or past an invisible wall where you die and lost all your ranked up gear.

I reload the game to find out that all my ships at base, GONE, stuff in space that I 'dropped' GONE and in a state where about the only way to climb up again would be restart. It would be slower to try and fix where im at. Why build a fleet if a single bad load or crash will wipe out hours and hours of ''''''progress'''''' Seeing as the time i'd need to gather up what I need to get back to where I was is most of the time I already put into this run. Only about 6-8 hours at that point but the momentum is all gone. I can see why salvaging a new or captured ship is less efficient than out you have printed out. The printed ones I don't see why I can't get 100% back of the remaining ship bulk. The AI made it with fancy tech so it should be fully recyclable. Or known designs that you don't need to research but are just scrapping them wholesale. Why would I lose matter? The AI wouldn't be tossing 30%+ into space for fun, maybe to watch me squirm but not from random inefficiencies. Least make 'his' D.. Jerk moves direct and intentional. It would almost fit.

Could we, at least during idk early access have a few lasting auto save slots to pick from? To side step this kind of lame game killing junk? Even being able to just revert to the last session load would be fine, but not ideal. Or something else. You can't call space saving as a reason Devs, saves are small. Even more when you compare any survival/crafting type game saves. Fix it, and by fix I mean change it all and make saves, Saves. A place I can go back to if bugs or what not happens. I'm fine suffering from my own hubris with lost cost of a blasted out ship. Game breaking bugs not so much. Sure I can go in and make some manual back ups like most any game but we shouldn't have to when we could have a short list of built in back ups. :cubesad:

I want to keep liking this game but after this i'll likely be taking another long break from this 'Stable' update. Your game has a lot to offer but this hardcore save method is premature with the overall state of the current game and this new resource need. It should be considered for revision or complete change. :steamsalty:

I had a similar problem with sectors lagging, not loading smoothly. I moved the game on to my SSD and that fixed the problem. Strongly suggest using an SSD. Also fixed low frame rate issues I was having (rarely, but still having)

As far as the grind, I personally recommend focusing on getting power EVA armour. Once you can exit your ship, you can easily capture any other ship and avoid many hours of grinding. Just find a ship you want to Cap, have no crew on board, get close and exit your ship, fly to the air lock on the enemy ship and enter. Kill the crew, and voila, brand new advanced ship. You can find Power EVA in the grey sector to the North-West in mega malls and trade hubs.
