I lost my character and all my progress
... After a blackout, my pc obviously turned off and I don't have the character anymore, is there anything I can do to get it back? I don't mind starting over again if I can't but please help me.

I have the same error, and i fixed that way:

1: go to %USER/AppData/LocalLow/Lazy Bear Games/Punch Club and create a copy file of the save_1.dat_backup and rename that copy to save_1.dat
2: enter the game again and see the magic happen.

OR do that:

1: go to %USER/AppData/LocalLow/Lazy Bear Games/Punch Club and copy that folder(Punch Club) to another area, we need that folder to backup the corrupt file just for safety.
2: after copy, open the game and create a new game save, and JUST EXIT THE GAME WHEN THE GAME LET YOU SAVE AND EXIT.
3: after you save and exit, go to the old punch club folder, that we made for backup, and copy the save_1.dat_backup to the game folder.
4: rename that save_1.dat_backup to save_1.dat.
5: enter the game again and see the magic happen.

BRO!! You are a life saver I was about to fukcing kms after all that grinding... I had a quick power outage and the file died...but thanks to u my boy lives another day... <<3 :2019love:

Playing the game in 2021 for 100% completion and my hardcore file got deleted by a power outage. Thank you so much for the fix!
