it isn't and it's the ONE thing that really destroys the game, because you feel like you're on a hamster wheel trying to get that 'little bit more' start % 'more' than you're going to lose, it's insane.
That's not to say whatever your post is about increasing cost of skills is wrong or anything, it's probably a good point,
but the decay is HORRENDOUS and should've been patched a LONG time ago.
What's interesting is I'm sure there would've been 'uproar' about balance issues etc if stats didn't decay etc,
but that's exactly __ IT __,
Humanities inability to grasp the obvious and see the balance in things..
Nobody said stats had to 'NEVER' decay, the problem is that they decay TOO FAST.
This is an absolutely 'zero' discussion topic as all anybody has to do (as with ALL problems in existance) is LOOK AT NATURE.
When a person works out in 'Real Life' (you know, "that" thing..) guess what happens?
You are actually WEAK for a day (even 2), but then you get STRONG for 2, 3, 4 and more days after.
Your body rebuilds, and that 'rebuilding' process not only takes time but trust me and take it from someone that has been exercising many years --
You DO have at least 4-7 days (after recovery) where you have a somewhat stable amount of 'new' strength that you gained.
After about 5-8 days you will start 'losing' what you put on, the numbers are variable depending on lifestyle but you DEFINITELY have multiple days to 'keep' your new strength.
This HAS to happen because then nature wouldn't make any sense, if 'decay' immediately the next day was 'normal' then literally all organisms in nature would DIE from failing to adapt to their environment,
the damage (stress) you put on yourself one day would literally 'leave' you the next (based on the games system of decay) so you would NEVER BE ABLE TO ADAPT TO YOUR ENVIRONMENT,
all orgranisms would literally die 'trying' to get stronger but not be able to keep up cause the decay would make it impossible to adapt long enough to eat, procreate etc.
It's shocking the devs havn't patched this yet,
So again, the point was a 'proper patch' for the 'decay' ISN'T 'eliminating' it completely - It's __ simply extended the time BEFORE the decay occurs __.
That is an 'ideal' solution to the game AND mimicks nature and 'real life', how things actually should be and work.
All you gotta do is give a person 1 or 2 days 'before' their stat decays (that they exercised) and the whole thing would be a million times before and make a lot more sense.
That's exactly how real life works as well, all you gotta do is 'something' to keep your body active and you WILL retain what you have.
In other words, even if you bench somewhat heavy for 2 days a week, if you travel and don't have access to 'heavy benching',
all you gotta do is some pushups and cable flies with elastic bands and you WILL keep most of your gains at least for a week or two, before 'noticable' changes started occuring of 'decay'.
Again, all the devs gotta do is patch in 1-2 day freeze on stat decay if there is absolutely NO use of that stat,
and the game will be 100X better and more enjoyable.
What 'saves' this game from being totally destroyed by this horrendous stat decay garbage is obviously those skills that 'keep your stat from going under X amount'.
It's literally those that make the game playable at all, gameplay basically revolves trying to get those 'skills' as soon as possible so you can actually "play" the rest of the game.
then equalizing skill points makes sense too instead of increasing them.
Basically the rewards of the game should increase proportionately to the cost of skills, yes,
if they don't they should, or the cost of skills should stay the same for sure
First this game doesn't have much content, and I mean that literally there's very little to it. So lets say for the sake of this discussion the skills decayed exactly how you said. You'd beat the game in an hour. Maybe 2.
The second issue is that there are ways NOT to lose your points, and that's how this game is intended to be played. They basically made it a grind to get to those parts, but once you hit them, you can't lose your points beyond where they are, so like if I'm remembering correctly the first one was like you can have 5 points in whichever tree and you can't lose them beyond that 5.
Now having said that, it's a miserable grind to get to them, it is VERY cookie cutter. And I believe one of the fundamental mistakes they made is the cost of skills, because that's the real problem, the cost is insane, like you start out and its a few fights to get your skills, but then after that point it's like 20 fights, then 30 fights, and its just insane. And all of this is because they have no real content, it's very much so an empty grinder because of that.
