Regardless, its everyone's own personal decision.
I'm a veteran Gothic player...never felt to do such thing. Anyway, what are the enemies are for? :D
You get lots of exp and loot and besides it is fun to figure out the routes especially in more complex mods and take npcs out without others seeing it. Then you death blow them on the ground to make sure you have fewer witnesses for the next kill and eventually it becomes easy.
For me it is a fun mini-game within Gothic. Love it. Did this in Ahssun and Archolos and all the other mods
Also if you want free exp find skeleton mage and keep him alive. He will summon additional skeletons from time to time and each of them gives nice reward for being defeated, allowing you to get infinite exp while still keeping the challenge (you have to deal with summoned skeleton while being attacked by mage, so it's not free exp).
