Steam overlay not working in G2 (workshop version)

Some time ago, my steam overlay stopped working - 3-4 weeks ago it worked, but recently I noticed that it stopped turning on.

As I understand it, the problem is in Union - when I turned it off, the overlay started appearing when I pressed shift+tab.

In the discussions on Archolos, they wrote that they had an update that began to conflict (in terms of the overlay) with Union, but in the case of G2, it seems there was no update - or is this not a problem with the game, but with the steam client (or rather, one of its latest updates)?

How can I solve this problem without disabling Union?

Why do you need the overlay anyways?
If you want to easily tab out of the game install DX11 renderer and change to borderless fullscreen.

I think its something on site of steam, its terrible that u cant use screenshots etc , overlay for friends .

For example, if we want to share screenshots with the community on Steam but we ca not take screenshots with the Steam overlay since the Steam overlay doesn't work properly with modded G2 Gold Edition...
