make game lag very badly. My config was: mat_picmip 11 r_lod 7 r_3dsky 0 mat_showlowresimage 1. It makes it lag for no good reason, but when i set everything to "High" and remove the config, no lag.
i think it's more an issue with the source sdk 2013 base, not exactly sure if there is a way to fix that as I don't have engine access unfortunately
> And second is even more weird. If you stop the game by opening settings, then minimizing it and maximizing again near Nova Prospect cops, closing Settings, then they would turn purple-black checkers. They would have no textures.
I haven't seen this issue, i'll try re-creating it and see what i can do. maybe it's some wierd issue with the gamepadui
> Stopping the game by opening settings and then waiting a few minutes near a zombie, will make you die from zombie instantly. They just become too fast and you die!
i'll try re-creating this issue on my end, probably something with the HL2 NPC code.
> Some maps are barely playable, like 10-20 FPS. Some maps can even make your game crash.
This is currently being addressed with a feature in the next update, known as "NPC FPS Control". It is available in the "beta" branch. More information here: https://steamhost.cn/news/app/397680/view/6444182595879043341?l=english
> And sometimes you cant even walk, your character wont just jump when needed.
try running "exec bindings_default.cfg" before applying the configs, I think some things might be unbound
to clarify as well that I currently don't really have a lower-end PC, so a few of these issues are somewhat harder to address. Like I said earlier, maybe the beta update might help address some of these issues as i've done optimizations on the spawner side. There are 5 settings that could help in the beta if the default settings don't fix the issue:
"Distance to remove NPCs at"
"Minimum framerate to remove NPCs"
"Minimum 'danger' framerate to remove NPCs"
"Minimum framerate to temporarily disable spawners"
"Distance to disable spawners at"
