1/2. I am currently planning on ways to improve the gamepad UI on PC. The state of it is not what I personally want and I plan on fixing up sliders at some point soon. In the beta branch for INVASION, you have the option to also access the original options menu if you wish, although it won't include a lot of the extra options. This is more for people who wish to change the bare essential settings without needing to use gamepadui. There is no option to overcharge the gravity gun as that is given to you when you go to the maximum level (level 20).
3. This was an issue that I experienced personally in the development of ENDGAME and as a result tried to get it closer to proper HL2 movement later on in development. The floatiness is mainly so the extra mobility additions are easier to perform, however this isn't exactly ideal. Bunnyhopping is still a thing, although it is slightly harder to do except in larger maps (it is much easier to do now than in it was in the ENDGAME beta). I'll take a look towards fine tuning the default movement more so it's closer to default source movement.
4. I don't think merging the betas in the same branch would be much of a great idea. In addition to it adding up storage space, it would add a bit of confusion when starting up FR, especially for newer players. In addition the older beta branch uses a slightly older version of sdk 2013 and doesn't have a native Linux port, which could bring some incompatibility issues.
Sliders will function differently in the menu compared to normal panels. To edit an option, you click on it, then use the mouse wheel to adjust the option. Afterwards, you simply navigate to another option (or tab) or click the slider again and it will save the option. Making the slider more like the normal slider would require a complete rewrite, so i feel like this is a decent compromise for now.
The movement should be closer to HL2 movement as well.
