Garry's Mod Is Acting Up (A Lot)
So, I had just started up my computer, and I booted up Garry's Mod.

But, instead of getting the menu, I got this weird tab that said this:

Looks like the main menu failed to load.

This could be due to missing game files (run verification of game file integrity through Steam), or the HTML engine failed to load.

Below are some simple options to exit the game.

Then there were 3 option: "Find Multiplayer Game," "Options," and "Quit."

When I clicked the "Find Multiplayer game," it lead me to the Legacy Browser (as you might have seen before).

I decided to boot up my favorite Sandbox server, Zbox.

I did successfully connect, but I could barely do anything (Type in text chat, load dupes or saves, etc.).

And then, when I clicked "Options," it opened the regular settings menu, and you can guess what "Quit" did.

I tried all I could, I restarted my computer, check the integrity of the files twice, I even un- and reinstalled Garry's Mod. Nothing worked.

I'm not sure if this has to do with the new update or something, or maybe my corrupted GWarheads (which I unsubscribed to), but I just don't know what to do.

So, if you have ANY advice, please provide it. Thank you :GDNormal:

i have the same issue reinstalled Garrys mod 4 or 3 times, verified files multiple time, cleared out all addons, cleared cache, messed with HTML file a little bit, nothing. Reddit and youtube also hardly have any answers. but like you my suspensions were also at the update because it was worked just fine the night before and I have a lot of mods. hopfully more people have this problem as well so they could fix it or tech support might be needed and i currently have no access due to an internet filter installed. ):

Darn... My situation is almost exactly the same. I've been working on this issue for like 2 days and I'm afraid I might have to permanently delete Garry's Mod :(

i have given a friend a request to log onto Garry's mod as well to see if he has the same issue, he hasnt played recently. Maybe he can comment on here and get this discussion some traction for attension so a solution of some form arrives. (Not even the the factory reset function works.)

Here's why this is happening after updates, since I have to repeat this.
Addon Conflicts/Outdated Addons: Updates can break compatibility with existing addons, leading to crashes. Having too many addons can also cause issues due to the Source engine's limitations.

Memory Issues: Gmod's default 32-bit build has a memory limit, which can be exceeded with many addons or complex scenarios, causing crashes.

Corrupted Game Files: Updates can sometimes corrupt game files, leading to instability.

Outdated Graphics Drivers/System: Your system's graphics drivers or operating system might not be up-to-date, causing compatibility problems with the new update.

Engine Limitations: The underlying Source engine, while versatile, is old and has inherent limitations that can be pushed by modern content and user creations, especially with large numbers of mods.

Thank you for the advice, but all of the things I've tried should have fixed it. :\

Usually the game will fix itself, I just uninstall it for a few weeks. Idk why face punch haven't looked deeper into the problem people are experiencing.

Thank you for your response, RiftHunter. I haven't update my graphics driver in a while and that could be the or a problem tbh. If that doesnt work it seems that a big chunk of us might have to wait till Facepunch fixes this but i have found other discussions that players are gather towards that have this exact issue. Hopfully Facepunch notices this error and finds a way to fix it.

Thats strange. Never heard of that before either. Do some of you think this is a system issue as in our computers?
Dunno, maybe it's type of computer, I have a laptop, do you guys have a laptop?

Just to give some more info here; I Have restarted my laptop, uninstalled all my mods, verified files, uninstalled and reinstalled the game like twice, and I have waited a couple of minutes, nothing seems to work.

I do have a laptop, but, before this all happened, Garry's Mod ran completely fine
Same for me, perhaps it has something to do with the latest update and our device we use to play gmod?
