No serious gripes ... but
Hallo all colonists. It’s another glorious meteor strewn day on the red planet.

I’ve read some suggestions for improving Planetbase and some are very good. I must admit that I really like Planetbase and do not have serious gripes with the game. To be honest, I’m hooked. Let me be quite frank. I was not sure about Planetbase … I had doubts. So I first got a pirated version of the game and played it for an hour or two. The result was very surprising – maybe because I like building and management games. So without further delay I purchased Planetbase and I do not have any regrets doing so.

But having said that there are a few things I would like to see in Planetbase:

1. Probably my biggest gripe about the game is the fact that you’re not able to level the terrain. It is possible for driller bots to mine so why not have them level the terrain (or another type of tool). If we have the technology to build in outer space, we should surely be capable to level some terrain.

2. How about the ability to build tunnels through mountains/hills to enable connecting the different sections of a base? Again, if it is possible to mine ore it must surely be possible to dig tunnels.

3. Would it be possible to place the building closer together? On the negative side that will increase the scale of the damage with a meteor strike. A lot of real estate goes to waste because of this.

4. Maybe the amount of people that fits into an airlock could be increased. In the event of an imminent sandstorm the colonists would prefer, I’m sure, to get inside instead of waiting in line.

5. I understand that the game needs to be a challenge for it to have purpose and to be fun to play … but the meteor impact rate is a bit insane. Would anyone settle in a neighborhood (on earth) where rocks are throw at you 24/7/365? :) If colonists are willing to settle on such a planet I’m sure they will go more prepared, e.g. having the necessary measures in place to deal with this.

6. Are the any plans for more entertainment for the colonists? Maybe a bordello or two, or a stripper in the bar :steamhappy:? It is after all the oldest "profession" know to man. Only kidding.

7. The engineers are a bunch of lazy asses! They will build a structure turn around and go inside without building the connection as well – although the materials are all there. Will it be possible to give them better “training” :) in order for them to improve their service delivery?

Regardless, I enjoy Planetbase a lot and want to thank the devs for developing this game and wish them well in their future endeavors. This was money well spent.

I’m off to see if the engineers are working or sitting in the bar (waiting for that stripper). Happy gaming all.

P.S. - Would it be possible to add VSync? My PC tends to raise in temp specificaly with PLANETBASE.

Whats this Planetside game you speak of? It sounds much like Planetbase.

Seriously though.
One could make the argument that part of the fun is making a base fit with what terrain you're given. I've never had much trouble fitting a base of 300 colonists but it's always good to look around at the start of the game to see how far you can expand. I ended up restarting once because I didn't have much room to work with. With airlocks I just build 2 connected to an oxygen and I have little trouble with colonist build up.

Yeah thats the one. :) Hope I made all the corrections. I agree. As I said I enjoy the game regardless. Only a few thoughts I wanted to share.

I also feel like the meteor rate, at least on the first planet, is still a little high.
