How do you play this game?
The only action I could perform is end turn. I won the game after 3 turns? What the hell? How do you move troops, create armies? What is the point of this game? Why are there no instructions available?

Thank you!
But, shouldn't this come with the game?

Recommendation 1: set at least 4 ai minimum. AI have a bad habit of sending their whole starting army out adventuring which leaves their citadel totally defenseless against wandering independent units. (units with grey colored tiles)

2: bump up the AI difficulty a notch or two. minimum strength AI struggles to even fight the independents in order to expand, and makes laughably small armies. I think knight AI is where AI economic bonuses/maluses break even, but I would keep it a few notches below that until you have a strong grasp on the fundamentals. Even knight ai can build doomstacks of 200+ units.

3: expect a slow burn. The game moves slowly and rewards long-term thinking over short-term. In particular, income accrues slowly, and it's not weird to consider late game to be when you can recruit a normal 50 gold unit every turn.

4: good races to start with are baron or senator. They can be a bit weak in the late game against certain types of enemies, but they're very simple to play. They're primarily focused on recruiting armies of normal human units, and don't need any magical resources or have any real magic-based complexity to them unless you're trying to accomplish really great feats of late-game success. (the senator can become a god-emperor, and I think the baron can become high king if you find the exact specific building you need somewhere on the map, which isn't even guaranteed to exist) The baron in particular is very simple/easy since a large chunk of the army is based on freespawn human units.

Thank you! This is a lot of good information! I appreciate it!

I really tried to like this game. But it is just not for me. The lack of explanation. Non-intuitive commands. Lack of combat control and steep learning curve make this game so cumbersome that I am already bored with it. This game makes no sense.

point is playing, obviously, and the interface is simple enough. Modern players are so modern.

it does make sense, but yeah, DOTA players and others are obviously from another camp
