Porting to another language
Hi.
I lead a voluntary(non-commercial) localization team. I recently start playing this game and became a big fan of CoE.
So we are willing to translate this great game to Japanese.

We already have tried to implement it by ourselves using modding functionality, but available tools are not sufficient.
So it is wonderful if devs could provide some means to replace in-game texts(only texts).
Any other help will be appreciated.

P.S.
Following are what we tried with provided modding functionality, purely FYI(maybe for devs or fellow translators?)

- Units/Monsters names: Because units/monsters are referenced by its name(from recruitment tables/summons), changing monster's name would cause missing-reference-catastrophy, which can be handled by very careful (impractical) micro-administration.
-> make monster reference done by number, not by name, would solve the problem, but we guess that it would be technically difficult, especially in a viewpoint of backward compatibility.
- Units/Monsters descriptions: Modded with ease, it is not important though because they are flavour texts.
- Rituals: Rituals lack name command so we cannot overwrite its name. However translating name is not so important as long as translated description are available, which are strongly needed.
- Rituals Descriptions/Other properties modding: Because selectritual command lack additional offset argument(like as weapons), if some rituals have same name, we can mod only the first one(ex. for "Lesser Ritual of Mastery", we can only mod rit for Druids' but those of other all classes like necro, demonologist, etc). We think this is quite a drawback and we believe fixing it would not technically difficult.
- Traits(Special Powers)/In-game UI texts: No tool. We cannot translate or mod them at all.
- Weapons: Weapons are referenced by number, which is great for modding, but name command is absent. It is wonderful if name command were added.
- Terrains: Modded with ease

Personally, I think we do not have to translate all the features. There would be following priority of:

(absolutely needed, necessary to understand game rules) Rituals descriptions, unit stats UI, combat message, unit traits descriptions, item descriptions
(great if available)Ritual names, monster names, weapon names, item names, trait names, other name matters

Summarized wishlist for modding functionality:

- adding offset argument for selectritual command
- adding name command for rituals
- adding name command for weapons
- changing monster reference to number reference from string reference(difficult)
