Report a translation problem
I even did the same for the other two small CoE4 mods I have published:
- What Era?
- Bystander
The Bystanders also got a unit description. All in all perhaps so minor changes that you may question whether it’s even worth the effort to download and “reinstall” them (just have the new versions overwrite the old ones). The readability of the messages given by the What Era? mod will be a bit improved, I believe though, with the new “paragraph breaks”.
My deepest apologies to those who downloaded that version.
The mod has been corrected and the download link has been updated.
Thanks
I like your What Era mod., The c4m code I changed a bit adding a line about employed sages who give the report rather than the "omniscient narrator" to make it a bit more immersive ,
We are in the fifth era, the Monarchy era. ◀^^You consult with sages employed to investigate Elysium. The sages submit their report:^^From the ruins of the fallen empire,
In fact, I kind of made it a point not to mess with the stupidity of saints (or angels) the way they were designed in the standard game. (I don’t like the idea of player-controlled saints and angels much.)
So, normally, I would have said, make whatever stupidity-removing mod you like and then, if players want my changes to sprites and names as well, let them play with both mods.
However...
...depending on the order in which the game loads the mods, Saintly Order may not always combine well with another saint-changing mod. (If my mod is loaded after the other, no problems; otherwise, the other mod will change only my male saint but leave my female one based on the standard saint of the game.)
It really would have been nice if a loading priority could have been set for CoE mods. 😞
In the absence of that, though...
...for those who want to combine my mod with something like the Angelic Voice of Reason one, or just are control freaks in general 😜 and want to control saints,
I now added a player-controlled version of my Saintly Order!
See the top post.>> Saintly Order may not always combine well with another saint-changing mod<<
Yes If I wish to buff the celestials and leave them AI controled, and release a mod to avoid issues with two mods changing the same thing, may I have permission to incorportate Saintly Order in it?
Thanks
Also, what if players like your celestial buff mod, but are less happy about my changes to the aesthetics? I am flattered, of course, that you apparently are one who appreciates it. I’m just bewildered by this sudden urge of yours – after nobody else, other than myself, bothered to post in this thread at all for 6 months – to grab my stuff and cram it into what to me seems to be an entirely unrelated mod.
I kind of like the idea of keeping separate things in separate mods. Plus: But in order for this to work, you’d have to discourage from use of my mod, right? (“Stay away from Marlin’s mod.”) Which I’m not sure I would feel OK with. I mean, I am still here! It’s not like I abandoned this mod.
Remember: Things may work flawlessly already without any adaption at all to either this or another saint-changing mod – provided they are loaded in the right order (my mod last). If, on the other hand, you incorporate my mod in yours, and an unsuspecting player is using both, things are bound to end up less than optimal.
So, for now, the solution I’d prefer myself is if could I remain the one maintaining the Saintly Order stuff, adapting it to other mods as needed.
If you wanted to do it , go right ahead, I have a working version already been testing it sucessfuly it in my personal game, just have to strip out the Saintly Order Code for the male / female Saint naming convention and the references to the icons used.
I gather if someone would want to use both mods together, you would make the compatibiltiy file?
Had you filled me in on the details from the start, it could have saved me some considerable confusion, you know. 😉
But to answer your question: Sure! Just post your mod (sans my Saintly Order), and I can do that. 😎
Hopefully 😇, Johan will add some way to set a loading priority for mods, at which point this won’t be a problem anymore. But, in the meanwhile, I’ll make a fix.
Already stripped out your code and I have to test more thoroughly , I shall edit this post as needed...
Where can we download this wonderful mod? :D
So, I have now updated my mod with the new modprio command of v4.20. See the top post.
I set the modprio to 8, i.e. not quite at max, just in case anyone for whatever reason (that I can't think of now) would want their mod to be loaded after mine it's still possible (with a modprio of 9).
Great!
When you feel you're done, just go ahead and upload your mod. No need to worry about any explicit modprio in your mod (the default is 5). There should be no clash between our mods anymore, and users should be able to comfortably pick and choose between your mod or mine or both (or neither) without problems.

Edit: Google broke my link, and it isn't needed anymore, anyway.
