Draconian Mod
The Draconians have once again returned to Elysium determined to subjugate the land and eradicate any who will not serve their Draconian Lord. I haven't tested this mod extensively so please let me know if you run into anything unusual or have any suggestions.

The above link is to the Draconian mod version 1.11 I've been able to play with The Draconess through all rituals without issues, but I've only tested this without any other mods running. There are some additional improvements since the original version including a few more rituals for the Draconian Lord and his Lieutenants. Version 1.11 added the (c) for leader on the Great Dragon Lord's ritual "Seek a worthy mate".

As always, please do not hesitate to contact me if you come across anything that seems amiss or if you have any questions or suggestions.

Hello Hueytuckers! So, you're back with your Draconians! :steamhappy:

Looking good, and very fun, although perhaps very strong too – but I only tried them out very briefly now, so I don't know how they play in the long run.

Some quick complaining from a Linux user again, though: Although your sprite file names seem to be all lowercase (nice), there were the following instances of uppercase in the mod file:
  • Draconian Veteran (both sprites I think).
  • Draconian Captain (both sprites I think).
  • Draconian wizard_a
(Which I had to edit in order for the game to find the sprite files on Linux.)

Gonna have to check this one out next time I can play.

Thanks and of course I'm back with the Draconians. I corrected the caps and redirected the link to the corrected version - knew you would find a couple. :steamhappy: I think I may need to increase the cost of the summons to increase the difficulty, but I'll probably wait until edirr comes out with the manual to see if there is anything else I'm wanting or needing to change.

I've updated the link to version .98 (holding out on version 1.0 until the modding manual comes out because I want to add some vulnerabilities etc but don't have the command codes yet.)
Changes for this version: at least the ones I remember
Reduced some of the abilities of the Draconian Lord, Lieutenant, and Black Draconian
ie Removed solar magic ability from Lord
Reduced strength, MR, and morale
Reduced weapon bonuses
Added descriptions to most units
Added more summoned characters to generate more variety and scarcity
Raised the cost of some of the summoning
Raised the cost of the Draconian Wizard, Security Force, and Red Draconess

I hope you enjoy and please let me know if you have any comments or suggestions.

You should just need to unzip into your COE4 mods directory. It should create a file named draconian.c4m and a folder called draconian that has all the graphics.

Elemental vulnerabilities is added by having negative resistances e.g. "fireres -50" to get fire vulnerability 50.

That's why I didn't see anything like the old CoE3 "vul" commands - Thank you for the information, Johan and for an excellent game!
How does this faction work? What can I expect from it?

Will you be doing any other mods? :0
I did this mod mainly because in Conquest of Elysium 2, the Draconians were mine and my sons favorite faction. Sadly, they were missing from CoE3, but since it was modable, I modded them in, but it took some odd work arounds. This mod is pretty much from my CoE3 mod but without the odd work arounds. I've had a few other mods I've thought about but haven't really done much with them. My son is working on a Dragon mod (seems to be a theme), which will incorporate some of the dragon growing and work arounds we used in CoE3, but is stuck trying to figure out how the Dwarf recruiting works. So I guess the short answer is there is always the possibility I'll do another if a particular idea comes to me, but my favorite part is the art work.

The Draconians may be a little overpowered in this mod, but I have reduced their abilities some in version .98.

Draconians are a magical mix between humans and dragons. The society is divided into several castes and believe that all non-draconian races are meant to serve. The Draconian Lord, and to a lesser extent, his Lieutenant can summon dragons to guard mines. Dragons and their kin (drakes, wyrms, etc.) for the most part, serve as immobile guardians but are limited to one summoning per mine unless the dragon guardian is killed. Another can be summoned if the Draconain Lord regains control of the mine. Elite Caste Draconians, Red, Blue, Purple, Green, White, and Yellow, will offer their allegiance when they feel it beneficial. The Warrior Caste Draconian units are typically drafted from the hatchlings of the same egg clutches creating very tight cohesive military units. The warriors are typically very well armed and armored. Most of the smaller bands are self motivated, expected to operate independently, and do not need a leader to be effective units. Because of this, leaders among the warrior caste are rare. Many of the warrior caste units are also equipped with small crossbows, very effective in ambushing enemy units often allowing them several shots before battle is engaged. Draconians believe humans and other Elysium races are beneath them except for those that have proven themselves in combat. Draconians also have a deep admiration for magic so wizards are about the only non-draconian caste readily accepted.
