More friendly texturing, Custom Gang icons and Map Lists
I've ran into a few minor problems while playing, nothing too big, but I thought I'd give some suggestions on them.

Compared to other voxel games like Minecraft, I'm a bit annoyed with texturing for this game. Right now, there is nothing to change to a texture pack in game and you'd have to replace files in your game to change stuff, which is a pain and you can easily screw something up. Not only that, it seems the textures for blocks are repeating patterns of the same block over and over, rather than say the texture of one face of the block per file, which, I think, makes it easier to screw something up.

Regarding gangs, it'd be pretty cool to have custom icons, mainly to help distinguish gangs from each other. Colors are great, but when I'm playing against 16 bots, I don't remember all the colors.

On the map page, you have to click to go to a property and see what's up with it, which is okay when you have a small city, but when I'm at 2000 people, I really can't tell which properties need to be repaired, which properties I should sell, etc. Having a list which you could filter through would make getting around the map a lot easier.

Re: texturing - I'm not sure what you're asking here.

To make a texture pack you don't need to replace anything - you simply place files in the /mod/ directory. For example to override "textures/blocks/tex0.tga" put a file in "/mods/YOUR_MOD_NAME/textures/blocks/tex0.tga".
This system works with all of the game assets. See:
http://wiki.voxelturf.net/wiki/Modding_Guide#File_Structure_.26_Overrides
And for an example:
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1118115068

Installing a texture pack is as simple as hitting "subscribe" on the workshop. Are you asking for an in-game mod enabler/disabler?

Re: gang icons - Intuitively I agree with you, but I'm not sure how much this would help. It would turn Blue Gang A and Blue Gang B into Blue Gang A with a Star and Blue Gang B with a Circle.

Didn't know that, seemed vague to me, not to mention there aren't many textures mods out there to do that with. Apologies I didn't look into that too deeply.

You'd be right, that wouldn't help much. But having a set of 50 icons, perhaps made by the community through the workshop or something, such as a star, skull, swastika, or sad face, would tell me a lot more. Especially if there is a system for custom AI factions, which I think I saw others suggesting. My main point is that it's hard to tell apart factions in larger maps. Also, just giving a player a symbol to identify their gang with would go a long way. It'd be awesome to have gang members with an Orthodox cross or Adeptus Astartes sign on their arm.

How about something like this:

Flags could be made with a couple of coloured layer masks, and an optional emblem can be placed on top.

The flag could be clickable to take you to the diplomacy screen. If a base is occupied then it could be half one flag (the owner), half the occupier

That looks good, would certainly help out with the three blue factions :neonstims:

Thanks for the quick responses though, a lot of devs don't even touch 80% of any feedback, especially inane ideas such as mine.

Just a heads up - I've added a flag system to the game:

https://twitter.com/SnapperTheTwig/status/1007479100888371200

All players & factions have flags now, and they are displayed in most places where a name is mentioned. Clicking the flag on the map will open the relevant player/faction's diplomacy screen.
That's awesome! I'm amazed you've done all this faster than a well funded game like Minecraft has.
