Any way to disable the highlighting when looking at something?

Though there's no official, in-game way to disable the highlighting--other than camera and selfie mode--it seems possible to disable it completely via modding. Take a look.
The only problem with the modding approach is that it's only available to the original, Windows-only version of Staxel, as Staxel CE doesn't have mod support. Would that work for you?
