[Suggestions] Attention, please post suggestions here
Game modules/ideas/tanks suggestions

Hello mechanics, please feel free to post Your suggestions in this thread, we like to read Your ideas and to answer them ;)

To keep this easier for us to read through, please add a prefix before the suggestion:
  • [module] - for game modules like a usable tool during the repairs
  • [tank] - for tank suggestion
  • [story] - for an anegdote/tank story/crew story regarding a tank
  • [idea] - for any other idea regarding the game

If You post a story or idea, please include a link to the article/book/video etc.

[module] angle grinder or sandblaster

[tank] Soviets I'd say T34-85
Allies could go with M4A1(76)W
(to keep somewhat of a balance between their combat capabilities)

[story] german 7th tank division (ghost division)
africa campaign
operation citadel
normandy
battle for berlin
(could also be used as reference for experimental and combat proven tanks to implement)

[idea] multiple test tracks with changing textures (sand, mud, concrete), different obstacles
(water pit, different climbing angles, road bumps, small ramps), different targets (soft,
hard, wood, steel, near, far)

bolts should get get screwed and other part moved before disappearing insted of plopping
in and out after the circle fills up

multiple liquids (oil, fuel, coolant)

engine cranking

cold start flames/heavy smoke

external walking while engine is running




I don't know what will be possible but that's most for the moment coming to my mind (artillery, tank destroyers and others withheld for now) or asking to much of it

P.S. I simply hope you will delay this game as many times as needed to avoid failure like cms18 and present a truly finished game

Both of these tools were not included into our design process of how the base game looks. Now that You mentioned it we are starting to research and design how can we implement it into game. ;)

So already we know which tanks You have chosen in current (Allied) and future Soviet vote :D

About the combat capability, we're not sure we understand this correctly, but there won't be any combat in our base game. At least for now any combat is not reachable with our budget and work force. That doesnt mean we dont want to do it :D.

Thanks, we're noting any story we can get. When the time comes all will come useful.

From all these ideas, we can definitly implement:
- bolts get screwed out visually, then dissapear
- external walking

We want to implement, but we're not sure if time/money allows us:
  • test tracks
  • liquids
  • engine cranking
  • cold start flames

About any other vehicle type - for now we are planning only tanks. Anything other than that will eventually come after the game premiere.

About the game delay, we're not planning to delay our game, still didnt choose any solid release date in 2018. We want to design all game modules and content in such way, that our budget and time can do it. Any bonus content can be made after the premiere, so for now there is no stress. But from our experience, delays always happen during the project development, we will keep You guys updated.

Thanks for all of these suggestions mate, keep coming back and posting more stuff if it comes to Your mind, it really gives us more interesting ideas to the game :D

Thanks for the reply.

1. It doesn't have to be flashy just a simple optical effect or somthing of sorts to deepen the restauration aspect

2. I didn't expect combat but simply used it as a criteria since both of the my examples were somewhat on par with the tiger tank.


(Some simplistic target shooting would be great anyway ^^ )


3. Well I simply listed some of the more well known tank battles, nothing in paticular.


5. Overall said do your best i'm cheerin for it. I know there are limits, just give it your best without promising too much. Maybe just keep some ideas back for now to implement them when time and money allow it.


Keep it up and don't lose faith in the community or your work once the little kiddies start ranting about small stuff.

Maybe once you get the tank restored you can take it to the range. Can move the tank around but you can swivel the turret and shoot down range? Maybe? Maybe it's not a great idea? Lol I like the idea of customizing the museum. Having your own personal touch to it.

I had a great idea (if you have not thinked this already) so you could add a forest find mechanic (kinda like barn find) so you could find knocked out tanks in middle of the forests, bottom of the rivers, shooting ranges and from abandoned places and youd need to use metal fixer tool or cast your own parts of the hull and you could repair old blown or burned out tanks.

i just hope that my memory isin´t horrible but there is the last finnish bt tank with the big turret and gun :)

The German Tank Museum Munster is a great place for gathering intel aswell. They already cooperate with Warthunder and World of Tanks
