Game optimization
I've never had heat problems with my computer - I bought the biggest, most badass cooler I could get at the time, a Noctua NH-D15 CPU Cooler. However, lately, I've been noting heat wafting up into my face from under my desk, and my computer's been getting HOT when I play Tank Mech Simulator.

I downloaded some temp monitoring software, and my CPU went from about 60 degrees Celsius to 81 degrees after running the game for two minutes. I expected that particle effects from sandblasting and spraypainting would be the worst processing loads, but the heat didn't seem to go up noticeably when performing those operations.

I finished work on an M-18, checked the records, and my CPU heat peaked at 87 degrees - 90 degrees is the danger zone. GPU heat stayed more reasonable at about 75 degrees.

I have a GeForce RTX 3090 GPU, an AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 3.4GHz 16-core CPU, and 64 gigs of ram.

Has the game become notably unoptimized recently, or is this more likely to be an issue with my PC? I haven't felt heat blasting out of my computer with any of the other games I play, such as Car Mechanic Simulator, which presumably would have about the same resource demands as Tank Mechanic Simulator.

Please try to set the vertical sync option to 60 (the value is depend on your screen refresh rate)

If that doesnt help, you can also try to turn off Oclussion Culling.

I currently have vsync set to off (for some reason) and occlusion culling set to performance. Should I turn the vsync back on?

It does appear to have helped - it seems to run about 8 degrees cooler now.
Why would turning Vsync on make such a difference?

Some games with some GPU's seem to run at insane frame rates. For me, X3 (in the menu) used to run at hundreds of FPS, and sent the temps through the roof. Not even vsync used to stop it. By limiting the FPS, the GPU just doesn't need to work as hard, so lower temps. Vsync limits the FPS to your monitor's refresh rate and stops screen tearing (parts of the screen being drawn t different rates making the image look like it's in 2 pieces).

I can't recall specifically why I turned off vsync, only that there was some issue in the game very early on, and someone said to fix it I should turn it off. It worked, for whatever the problem was. Whatever it was doesn't seem to be an issue any more, anyway.

My screen refresh rate is 165, in the VSync option has 165, 82, and 55. Which one should I choose?

Hard to say, thats what we left few options for our players to choose from. The best way is to try all of them and choose which one fits you the most.
