Yeah I’ve done that several times. In fact, when I go back I’ve had the original excavation still there *but* the tank has moved to a new location reburied. Tried to excavate and it’s happening all the time. Cancelled the contract. Waited until a new tank to recover came along and it’s just stuck in a loop! I cannot now recover any tank. Bearing in mind I’m using a save that is from the beginning and I’ve had no issues until now, whether it’s the new patch or it’s a particular area on the map? It’s the fenced off area along a narrow raised road, boggy both sides. Other than that this ‘old bug’ has manifested itself into my tank career and positively ruined it. Not best impressed that an “old bug” hasn’t been killed by the devs! 😠
Save file should be in game Steam folder:
TankMechanicSimulator_Data/StreamingAssets/Saves
the outputlog.txt file should be located:
C:\Users\XXX\AppData\LocalLow\DeGenerals

The tanks i've excavated fully are 100% Clean -but still showing not dug out.
When i go back to the workshop it resets the whole dig and DOES NOT count my attempt of fully excavating the tank. 'Start Excavation' is the only choice on the contract -hence the loop
Excellent response and details!
All posted as per your request.
Cheers!
Edit: I've been messing about with this more and found that if you send the drone over and it finds the location of the tank and you, basically, slightly dig it to show it, go back to the laptop on the 4x4 then show it on the map and click on it with mouse, the option to dig it out then it's dug out for you. **BUT** you can't dig it out manually like you could before and ask for a recovery. It seems you can only do it now on the all terrain vehicle -laptop- and not through the radial wheel while atop the tank in the ground. So either way, it's broken unless you do it the way i've done it. Digging the tank out with shovel was the fun part
