This isn't due to see-through mode. I was working, had been locked on the churchill to do some bolts, and when it returned to normal view, both tanks were invisible - except for rusted parts (you can see some in the nearest turret).

So it looks like it spontaneously deleted all non-rusted textures and just left the wire frame behind.

The tank on the left is a M-18, the further one is an AVRE...
