Suggestion for museum displays - A gun rack
I have been playing a long time and have accumulated a lot of the junk you scavenge up off missions like badges and guns. I like putting the finished tanks in the museum. The display cases are a great idea and I like making nice displays of badges, helmets and pistols, etc... I like the new feature to sell all the junk you don't want too - thanks.

I would like to suggest a new type of display case - a gun rack. The guns don't fit well into the existing cases. A new style of gun case on the walls specifically dedicated to rifles and machine guns would be a great way to show the various rifles, sub machine guns and heavy machine guns we can find on missions. The cases can be set on the brick walls at various intervals (between windows for example) and you could stack something like 10 guns a case in them perhaps? They would be ranged vertically or horizontally (depending on the case) so you can see the guns side by side.

The current cases just don't let me make anything pretty when you try and use them in the current cases. See what you all think and have a shout in the comments below about it. later.

personally if i ran a museum i would not put firearms that may or may not be capable of firing on an open air display case where anyone could come and grab it, load it, and then go on a mass shooting.

So drill it or fill it.

I don't know how it works in your country. But I've served in a military museum in Brazil. Here, the legislation says the weapons, to be part of the arsenal exposed must have the firing mechanism inoperable (usualy by welding parts in armory). Same for vehicles (we had several tanks). But weapon racks in open air are not very common, although I''ve seen them too. I remember several on a WWII Brazilian veterans museum with 5 rare gewer43 lined up with 3 stg's 44 and 5 berettas 38 smg in perfect condition. Many other allied weapons where there too. Very strange really.

wow... I'm just amazed at these comments. The Canberra war memorial here in Australia has many weapons on display in gun racks. They are all enclosed in glass and protected so as to show the weapon off to best effect, while keeping it safe. I would think the weapon was disabled for safety. I'm not talking about a red neck gun rack on a rusty car here. Please work it out.....

Regarding your post, I completely agree, it's something that was asked a long time, but devs said "it's on the to do list", when they rework the museum (no one knows when), and since i'ts a game, there's no need for safety procedures I guess, hehe. Anyway, the Canberra museum, as you said, have standart safety displays it seems. The one I've seen in Minas Gerais - BR, was separeted from the public with a chain line, in the open, THIS was strange for me.

I'll add something I've been thinking about to this discussion.

Different display racks/cases are a nice idea, but I too have noticed the massive amount of pistols, rifles, medals and other gear I have accumulated. In time the variety of these items will likely increase as the devs continue. So what to do with all of these small items.

Sure, some can go into the various cases in the main hall of the museum.

But what about an unlockable feature with your skill points that allows you to add a side exhibition hall. This would give the player a new room dedicated to the smaller equipment they collect over time. Maybe even allow the player to add/remove and position the cases and display plates as needed.

For now, I'm waiting for more tanks, but this would be a nice future feature.

I would just like more mobility for the camera when putting things on display. Camera is stiff in this game in general but its worse on display.
