KB5005033 for Windows 10 causes this behaviour. Not only in TMS, but also in other games, there maybe not to that extent.
As soon as I uninstall that piece of junk (known for lots of other problems, too) TMS works normal.
I uninstalled it last week and the problem disappeared. Today I look into the windows update history and it was installed again two days ago.
Unfortunately this is a mandatory update, so it kreeps back on my computer at least once a week. :(
Log file shows information about error 0x887a0005. This kind of error is hardware related:

Quote:
"Several possible causes :
1) your video device is dying slowly, replace it
2) your video drivers are corrupt, re-install them from your PC/Laptop makers website
3) if you have a PC and you know what you're doing, open up the bonnet and check the power connections to your video device - re-seat if necessary. Also clean out (with compressed air) your power supply.
4) if your PC is quite old, your power supply may be on its way to the great power supply bone yard - have it checked out;
5) If you're playing games, turn the qualoty from high down to medium or low to take stress off your video card"
From game side, to reduce consumption of the graphics card, you can enable FPS limiter, set:
- Vertical Sync to Off
- Framerate to 60
Given the hardware prices at the moment that would be grave news. :(
KB5005033 is off the hook, the problem showed up in the meantime.
I will try first to restore an Windows 10 Image from before the error showed up, would be the easiest way if it works.
Have that behaviour in almost any game now. Restoring an old Image from Windows 10 didn´t help either. Warranty is gone, too. That will be a costly replacement.
Well this year Christmas is going to be early. for me... :D
