What you could perhaps do is make a new game and edit in stuff that you had.
You could use Morgh's Warband editor also, but it is easier to start a new game and just give yourself alot of money to buy back everything that you had before and editing your stats, by exporting the character stats, then editing the .txt file in Notepad and importing it again. (in character screen > Statistics).
The Characters files save in C:\Users\Username\Documents\Caribbean!\Characters
Maybe it is safer to have multiple saves (which I know isn't helpful if playing "no exit without saving").
I hope some of this helps you or that others come up with better solutions.
