Port Forwarding - For Players Wishing to Publicly Host
NOTE: Port forwarding is not required for co-op play with Steam friends.

To publicly list a hosted co-op game, the host may need to forward their Steam port 27015 (UDP).

You will find good instructions on how to do that here: https://portforward.com/

This site lists many routers, so try to find yours in the list and follow the specific instructions.

I hope this helps. If you still experience connection issues, please ask here on the forums or on the official Discord: https://discord.gg/zyy4jQs.

Edit: Community member Critical has provided a thorough troubleshooting guide: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/app/418030/discussions/0/1620599015894587811/.

Cheers

If you have a FritzBox as Router there are two ways to config. The first one is to forward TCP and UDP Port 27015-27030. This way works with other Routers too. Special the FritzBox have a second way. There is an Option under "Internet" -> "enabling" that names "Make Router open for IPv4 Connections". If you activate the FritzBox internal Firewall its safe, so that you can ignore Security Warning and activated with 1 click. Remember that only the Host have to do this Option. If this doesnt work, phone your Internet Provider. In this times its rarely that you dont get a public IP from provider, but its possible. Some Providers make for a low price a public IP Upgrade.

yo seriously, this needs to be made more user freindly. Literally spent 4 hrs trying to figure this out and its a complete brain burner. Me and a buddy bought the game to play together and we spent more time trying to configure ports. The fact it requires manipulation on the users end is gonna really hurt this games potential. For an early access game, the mechanics involved and the Graphic optimizations, its amazing. but no one wants to spend hours trying to figure out port forwarding. people wanna hit load and play the game.

Hi there, I'm working hard towards making the MP experience a smoother one for players.

As i iterate on the game, i try to release new features in small steps, so that players can start testing them while I continue improving them and getting feedback. The current MP is only a basis of which can be built upon and expanded.

I totally agree the current system needs many improvements. I really appreciate your patience while I continue moving forward with the project.

Thanks guys

did not help me, it does not help either, which is so difficult and why can not it be done right? Why should we try to do something ourselves to play multiplayer? Can not we make a full-fledged multiplayer?

will it work even without this chage, after some updates, or its needed?

Oh lord, stop crying over something so trivial. This game is faithfully updated and incredibly well put together and you wanna sit here and cry "refund". Gtfo.
