Hello 'Bartolucci²⁵¹¹' ,
A STEAM Early Access game is considered 'Unofficially Abandoned', if there has been no game Update, during a 6-month period of time.
SUBSISTANCE Alpha Stage game has not been Updated in 231 days (7 months and 19 days).
Ipso-Facto this game is abandoned.
----
After more than 8 years in Alpha Stage development, with millions-of-dollars of Early Access Investor money, SUBSISTENCE remains a discordant, illogical, shambles — running on an error-filled, Dead Game Engine..
Now Unofficially Abandoned❗
Good Luck & Regards
Hello 'PureHTDz' ,
The DENIAL STAGE of Grief is a common and natural response to a significant loss, acting as a buffer against overwhelming emotions.
It's typically the first stage in the Kubler-Ross model, where individuals may experience shock, disbelief, and emotional numbness.
This stage helps individuals cope with the initial impact of the loss by temporarily minimizing the pain and allowing them to adjust to the new reality.
----
SUBSISTENCE had the potential to become a 100-million-dollar game — unfortunately this game has NEVER been under Professional or Realistic Development.
Absent an immediate Upgrade to an alternative proprietary, or Licensable graphics engine (e.g., Unreal Engine 4), SUBSISTENCE Alpha Stage game is DEAD ... hence the unofficial abandonment.
End of story❗
----
The Developer will never know what he lost, because the Developer never really knew what he had..
Good Luck & Regards
Do you think it is realistic for a single dev to do that in 6 months and add updates? Just curious to see what other's opinion on that are.
Hello 'hyperion' ,
YES I DO "think it is realistic for a single dev to do that in 6 months"..
----
Keep in mind Subsistence is little more than 2GB in File size.
By todays standards that is a very, very-small game.
Subsistence is even smaller than most of todays Game Demos on STEAM.
----
HOWEREVER, we are talking about ColdGames here..
And ColdGames NEVER Updated the Unreal Development Kit (UDK), from UE3, to either the Full Version of UE3, and/or the Full Version of UE4 (both of which were available at the time).
A Colossal, Deliberate, Inexcusable, Failure❗
----
I stand by my original comments above, Subsistence is Unofficially Abandoned, and/or DEAD..
----
Good Luck & Regards
All of the code is compiled, so the 2G doesn't mean that much in regards to how much work it is, it can still be a LOT of code.
Do you do games development?
I mean, you must be basing that opinion on something?
There is no upgrade path from UDK to UE4. All of the code will have to be rewritten. So if updates are already developed and ready to go, ALL of that code will have to rewritten as well. So I'm sure if the dev was going to UE4, he would not have started on updates already, as he would be aware of this.
Completely realistic and there are plenty of examples
Go buy more skins, flatter his testers and make with them your terrible jokes only you a and them find funny, Hyperion
Not saying there isn't any out there(I dont play every game) but I seriously doubt there are "plenty" that meet that criteria.
