i think korea might be a better option for that, or even gulf war/ iraq war 2003, considering we did have big battles in both of those, one of which despite how outclassed it was had la standing army fighting us but you owuld have to balance it and thus bring down the realism, Korea might be better, have US forces and South Korean army, with North Korean and Chinese PLA for soviets, the front line had a push pull until the 38th parallel or something like that only true issue is lack of new guns , though adding British, Thai, and turk forces would bring in new weapons
