Press G to set control, and AUTO MODE?

I get a prompt to press G when on my creature, but it doesn't seem to do anything. Also, how do I activate auto walk mode for the creature?

once you press G you should be able to look around without your creature looking around. Then just press W once to speed your creature up and press S once to slow it down. Press A and D to turn. That's basically it. I don't exactly understand how it's useful but it's nice nonetheless.
