My VSync is also turned off.
Another user fixed the issue by switching off Vsync ingame and also in Nvidia Control Panel.
So it's still quite vague why shaders constantly have to be prebuild at every start.
But there are ways to resolve that issue.
Surely, shouldn't happen in the first place though.
DirectX12 games prebuild shaders when the game or the graphic driver gets updated.
There is no reason to do it every start.
I was really reliefed when I was able to fix that issue for myself.
Because these "seconds" (possibly around 300), gave me enough time to read a few walkthroughs in Steam Overlay.
Did you actually check the player's account, are you just trolling or do we need to call your caretaker?
BTW yes, the current workaround is to make sure any kind of frame limiting (Vsync or proprietary forms of vsync, hardware frame capping etc.) is off at the time of launch.
5 minutes really?
That sucks if it really takes that long for you and others. For me it’s always less than a minute.
I had that one too recently. It's just about 400 shaders.
The thing is, we are talking about a whole precompile of over 3000 shaders.
This can take a while, even on my rig.
Very annoying…
I fixed it by turning off any specific GPU driver settings for Abiotic Factor in Nvidia Control Panel.
If you have AMD you can try the same.
Ingame I deactivated VSYNC and capped frames to 60.
That got me rid of the whole recompilation process.
