The knockback when blocking bullets with a shield just seems silly
You get knocked back quite heavily even when it's just a single bullet, those mounted machine guns can send you flying and you better not have that anti-gravity trinket. Feels extra terrible when you're trying to advance through fire, something you'd think a shield would be perfect for. Actio = Reactio, if their guns can send a shield user flying they should fling the shooter backward too!

I would like if that got removed but if they gave one shield in particular (like that Riot Shield the Voussoir guys have) zero knockback from bullets then that could be a fun way to address it too.

Because for stability when firing full auto? oh also mounted aim assist and target recognition and 190 degree with Xray thermal flashlight for seeing through cloak also and might possible have 190 degree moment detection with auto lock on sooo fast that could rival tank active protection system

You just explained, why you flying off from hits with such gun, but shooter doesn't fly away.

Half of them are mounted on sandbags, that's not really a reason.

Either way, they are mounted, since sandbags weight a bit more, than scientist. Or carried by enhanced supersoldier Gatekeeper, who probably weights like 3 player characters.
