We Need Zoo Attractions
This probably just me, but this game needs zoo attractions, such as habitats for lions, apes, elephants, and similar.

I was just at a zoo today, which inspired me to post this. There were a lot of really nice displays, and each attraction was not only pretty, but fun to walk through (even if we didn't see the animals in some of the habitats).

To seal the deal, there were some minor rides at the zoo, a carousel, a train. So why not be able to add a zoo to a regular theme park?

No, it is not just you; there are a lot of folks here who would agree wholeheartedly and a zoo has been asked for may times before. When I was a child I recall a visit to Chessington Zoo. Don't ask me how good the zoo was, I don't recall. But, I do recall the single Spiral Slide, the Swing Boats and the Merry-go-round they had in one corner. That site is now Chessington World of Adventure!

The developers of this game are now working on a new project which sounds like it could be interesting. Though they still support this game and make minor adjustments when needed, they do not appear to be planning any expansion in the near future. :sadstar2022:

For what it's worth, I think a zoo expansion would sell like the proverbial hot cakes. I have it on my Wish-List. (or I would if I could. :rctwraccoon:)

If IHOP has proven anything, hotcakes still sell like hotcakes. :)

But what are they working on?

They are working on Croakwood

I was hoping one of the modders might take on this challenge. I love a lot of the mods offered in this game.

Oh, so very much agreed. Another thing I'd love to see would be animatronics for darkrides, and maybe some more mascots.

No. Encapsulating and caging animals is wrong, no need to endorse it, unless it is for wildlife preservation purposes.

But, surely, that is exactly what wildlife parks and zoos are about these days (at least in the country where I live). They need visitors though to help to pay for upkeep.

Most Zoo type games have "breeding programs" with "release into the wild" for the offspring. They also often have interesting information pages. And, the best require precise attention to environment and getting a species accurate enclosure. Making a good zoo program is a big undertaking not a little add-on side issue.

The guys who made Parkitect, I am convinced they would make an excellent job of it. I will be first in line to buy it if ever they do.

I actually just went to the zoo earlier last week. They do a lot to make sure the animals have enough space to actually be happy. And raise and release programs are indeed a thing that is done.

Does anyone think Croakwood will be as popular as Parkitect? I can't say it appeals to me. I don't like frogs. I'm not French.

Won't know until the game is out.

I'm french, and I'm not a frog lover (not even ate it once). It appeals to me, not because of the frogs, but because it looks quite, calm and causy.

Also, I like your humour, it's a nice shoot! ;)

If I recall correctly, in real life, it was, of old, more a case of add a few park attractions to an existing zoo. I have fond memories of visiting Chessington Zoo why back when and being far more interested in the scruffy helter skelter, swing boats and carousel which looked like rejects from a travelling village fun far. That Zoo with it's make shift apology for a "theme park" is now "Chessigton World of Adventure". But, yes, I would pay very happily for a Zoo DLC.

Croakwood; I plan to buy. But, do we have a road map for release yet? I need a new game asap. I feel I have completely exhausted the current possibilities of Parkitect.
