For me im using Nvidia and I click right mousebutton then choose Nvidia control panel and set all game application use nvidia instead of intel card
It might be that your laptop has this and that its not guessing correctly which one of its GPU's it should use. (it doesn't know this is a game).
You can change this setting in the nvidia controll panel. Just set it to "always use Nvidia" if you don't care about battery life. Since this can happen with many indie games/ more obscure titles.
right click on the desktop -> nvidia controll panel -> manage 3D settings (left side of screen) -> under the tab "global settings" there is a selection box called "Preffered graphics processor" if you indeed have this setup. select the high preformance NVIDIA processor.
Cyan's advice about adding the executable will also work. if you like your battery life you can do that, but you might have to do it for multiple games. There should be some tutorials online for that.
