Travel ranges for agents
I think one of the things that might be done to help balance things out in this game is how your agents can go anywhere in the world on any given turn. Are the setting up a quarantine zone in Chengdu one day and then going to Brazil the next to handle treatments? Give them a limited range that they can move between each turn, making it more important where you place your agents for what they can do. Sure, you might want to send your Medic into a the most heavily infected areas, but if he gets injured, it might be a bit more difficult to extract him to somplace safe so he can heal.

I support this.
Another idea I had earlier, which goes into the same direction was travel cost for agents: Moving to a directly connected city is free, longer distances cost e.g. 500 or 1000 credits per distance.

That's a good alternative too!

Hi 501st Dread Pirate Robert and Tispar
thank you for the thoughts that you put into that. These are definitely interesting ideas. We will keep them in mind!

That's why i suggested travel costs for movements beyond the normal travel ranges so that you can still react to outbreaks far away. In the current state of the game I just build up my team and use them wherever i want.

If you take a look at the board game pandemic you can travel 'only' 4 cities at max or throw away important cards to instantly travel longer distances while the diseases can infect upto 3 cites all over the board after each agents turn. Yes, that makes the game difficult but also provides a new layer of strategy to the game.

I agree that limiting the travel as I originally suggested would be VERY pandemic-like. However, I do like Tispar's suggestion of just adding a financial cost that gets more expensive the farther you go. As it sits now, once you've got your field offices and 4 operatives bought, you're really only dumping the cash into Techs and Researchers, and then there's nothing for your money to do anymore. I'm finishing games at well over $300k and thinking I'm clearly working the wrong profession in life with how easy money flows in.

So, just spitballing here, but make it $5k to move to each adjacent city, but have the cost cap at $25k, at which point you can fly anywhere in the world. Still gives you the mobility, but limits it a bit and gives another money sink for an excessive resource. Odds are it won't be until later in the game where you're really going to need to be moving your agents great ranges anyhow, as the disease will mostly be self contained from not spreading too fast yet.

Thanks to the devs for implementing the limited travel ranges! They make the game more challenging without being unfair. Good work :)

This was one of many player suggestions that we implemented in the latest update. We are trying to make this the game that players are asking for and look forward to all of your ideas and suggestions that we can implement, like the travel ranges, that will make the game better.

@Tiger, I really like the addition of travel ranges, strategically it makes me spread out my team throughout the global to make sure I can handle any situation. And with the movement points added to the hiring decision it adds some depth to the hiring choice. I mentioned this in another thread though, your new hires should be able to start at any office, that way you can put a new hire directly in the middle of the action. As it currently stands, if your main office is not near the main activity of the outbreak, then you have no choice but to hire faster moving people.
I like your idea about letting the agents start at any of the offices, saw a number of others mentioning that too. We will look into that as a possible addition in the next update.
Thanks for the ideas, keep them up and be sure to give us an updated review if you haven't yet.
