120 IQ move
Make NS2 f2p and capitalize on the skin economy. Tf2 and csgo had the right idea and have thousands of people playing until this day, with a huge skin economy.

We are getting "make the game f2p" suggestions ~once per week. We'll, the new week just started, so you are early but fine.

As for why this idea sucks, try reading this forum's previous f2p suggestions, and their corresponding discussions.

Damn, once a week. Good to see that a lot of people have the same suggestion and care for the game. It would be only bad for the 100 e-sports wanabes who only care about their rank and their safe space being invaded by new players.

obviously what do you care about the game if you want to expose it to infinitetely unlimited amount of cheaters continously coming back with smurf accounts just like in CS GO ?

I once used to love ns but poor balancing and bad maps made me quit playing,
making NS free to play however ? that would result in never coming back AT ALL

Omg, imagine exposing a game to thousands of new players.
CSGO: alive with a thriving skin economy (making valve literal millions every month) and having continuously more players every month.
NS2: Barely any players, skin economy shut down and whatever new player gets into this game is driven away by some old millennials with authority issues (literally every new player only complains about this). You hate new players and specific balance? Play on a private server with the gated community of your choice, there are balance mods out there. Ye sure, there might be cheaters, just kick them, you have admins. I would rather have the occasional cheater and an alive community, than a dead community and no cheaters.

you think cs go is alive ? cs go is catering to a small minority of sweaty streamers whos capable of living through their game whilst others can only hope of climbing ranks with the burden of CHEATERS THAT ALWAYS KEEP COMING BACK, For Free.

you think you can speak on the behalf of the community ?
I stopped playing because It has become pointless even trying anymore, thats the consequences of FREE TO PLAY in videogames.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cheater enabling trash, go play single player games
Kafson 27 Feb, 2023 @ 6:26am
Damn dude, talk about anger and authority issues, this is exactly what I meant.
You're denying reality if you really are saying, that csgo is dead with over a million concurrent players 🤡.
When was the last time you saw a NS2 stream, funny man? People like you are a big part of the reason why this community is dead.
"MR. you think you can speak on the behalf of the community" who insults people as "trash".
Anger and authority issues, seek psychiatric help or light from the outside, that room in your profile pic seems kind of dark.

youre no longer talking about the game and you can keep making pseudo-science armchair psychologists diagnosis on people when you have nothing smart to say about the bitter truth of free 2 play games, sometimes people will simply play only because its free and to waste time whilst the game has definitely died internally.

people like you ruin the games for others by promiting destructive decisions, render it useless to ever feel like coming back to the games you once paid money to play only to now see cheaters continously coming back to ruin your experience and wasting your time for ♥♥♥♥♥ n giggles

Right, I have made valid points in my previous statement, in which I completely demolished yours and you now specifically ignore (like thinking csgo is dead), therefore talking to you is a waste of time and besides you were the one who started to insult me for no reason. So don't act like you have the moral highground here, because you clearly do not, as you were the one who started it. Also on your cheater issue, I play tf2 which is plagued by cheating bots, you kick them, they gone. In csgo there are no cheating bots, so you kick the cheater and he's gone and can't join again. Problem solved. Not sure why you exaggerate the issue, clearly you have nothing to say. I have better things to do now, than to talk to some reality denying anger issue dude.

talking about the person instead of the outcome of games going f2p is not "valid points"

cs go being dead is not even a matter of debate when you see the amount of smurf accounts youll be facing only to waste your time because they were previously detected cheating on previous account(s)

you dont even understand the culture of csgo

CSGO has been on the top3 of the most played games on steam for more than a decade, you just can't say it is dead.

you can say the same thing about corpses then, if people keep poking things with a stick, its still alive

its the most abused game ever since it went free 2 play and nobody seem to care
steam isnt taking actions against smurf accounts either
maybe youre one of them

Thought process on this is backwards.

TF2 and CS:GO did not become popular due to skins, skins became popular due to those games. Both were extremely well known and popular games long before they had microtransactions.

Making a game free to play doesn't suddenly make it explode in popularity, this game is halfway buried, and even on 1$ sales it doesn't retain players. CS was popular long before it became f2p, dota 2 was popular long before it became f2p, and tf2 was popular long before it became f2p.

when people understand nothing and suggest microtransaction as a solution you know the game industry truly went to crap.

the problem isn't money; it's idea's design etc.
the team properlyt have no idea how to improve the current stated and therefore what more can you do?
it's properly also why an ns3 is not on the way bc "what would that bring which wouldn't dissapoint most that waits for it".

bigger maps`? more objective? more vertical lvls, stairs; more weapons, buildings, etc.etc.
BUT would any of that actual make the playerbase happy`?
i think that any large change to the play would created big backlash and again i doubt the team has any idea how to approach this with any reasonable chance of success; so jusst say "it was a good gem" and move on is the smart choice.

true.

fyi cs was a mod that was made for free by a private person the entire concept etc. was his and then they just straight up "stole" it, then prayed on with microtransactions and gambling sites in masses.... .... the cynist lvl of this game is so crazy... but yer the gaming world has been a wild west for looong time, ever since the investor money man got involved it's gone completely to crap :D
