it was never popular even at its height, it's always be niche. Great 'inhouse' game though.
i was pretty popular for the year or two after it came out, but it's steep learning curve and massive amount of game variability makes it both tough for new players and incredible for regular players.
Similar to NS1 before it. As long as there is a handful of good servers that are full, the game lives on.
