Worth getting into?
Hi guys. hope you all are doing well.

I have been made aware of the existance this game recently after discovering it through the easter eggs in Subnautica. After watching several gameplay videos from Nightmare NS2's channel I'm intensely drawn to it and I think the gameplay is really interesting; I'm really tempted to buy the game.

However, after browsing the Steam discussion forums for a bit, I'm taken aback by some complains about the toxicity of the community and I'm wondering whether I'll have a good time learning the game.

Are any of you also new to the game? How has your experience been so far? Is it possible to enjoy the game with fellow low skilled players before being exposed to the more hardcore competitive players? Please also leave any word of advice or comment you think is relevant.

Usually you got 2 high elo servers and a few skill restricted noobs haven server for new players full with players.
90% of the toxicity happens on NA server so you might want to avoid or set the voice volume to 0 when playing on them.

Howdy. I've been playing it alternately since 2018. A few times it happened that there was someone hysterical, a little off. But I could count it on the fingers of one hand. I don't even understand everything in English, so maybe there were more of them. Who knows. But the vast majority of the time I play calmly and even do transgressions, like I'm doing something else and not playing to the fullest (I stand still and do nothing), and the guys don't throw me out. It also happened to me that with my bad English I could not defend myself and there was always someone who stood up for me. All credit to them. I am usually thrown out by the system for inactivity. Of course, I try not to do this and not to spoil the game for others. Sometimes I only do it when we're rolling the opponent. So I play only servers for beginners and intermediates. Moreover, I have no ambition, hardware or skills. If the servers are full and there are more people in the queue, feel free to go to a server with a higher ping. Within 150ms I have US servers and one can play just fine. The problem arises with Australians with their 280ms ping. One must already know that he is being shot and count on it.

yes the toxity is high. But the game is very fun at its core.

tldr: "every now and then, when my psycho metal resources are refilled after a ton of cry wind against me... I go in and show everybody what a german is in contrast to those low societists everywhere."

you must compensate from your "own" mental "player resource" if you get shut down too much; I have had punch-outs somewhat frequently, and it took months to recover from cultural differences, that I had to cover after a "clash".

even when the main game is very worth it, different players come with different motivation to play, and parts of the experience is good, but parts are really broken, and it happens "randomly", as you cannot forsee what you are supposed to do, when you dont know yet...
so you must cause the one or other clash with other people, in order to break yourself through to certain positions you target to learn or "work on" skillwise.

working up skill can take years, and is a long term investment that has payed off for me. growing older makes you a 1000x times stronger ...

somer players think NS2 is a kindergarden experience,
and the way other players talk into publicity hurt my ears from that english rough slang so much, that I leave just because of the horrible (lying, twisting the meaning of words on the way to express something completely upsidedown with it and scratching vocals that are too unsound with my culture.
But on the other hand, you are supposed to go offensive sometimes, and win your personal war in some kind, to break free your pressed down conscience.

its not a basic rant, but a flavour of how rough the experience is, and our cowboys are meant to behave like a "warrior", and not to behave like a foe that is required to be nice like your house wife to you instead right, in order to make you "gentle" enough for playing...

but for me, I had crucial goals to archieve my rise up in different life goals i had.
And I could not reach some, at the cost of other players denying me. For this reason i have not the time to teach commanding in NS2, even if it would be fruitable with a better society, riper people.

still, playing the game counts higher than other players, and at last I just do what I want, and usually in christmas time i get a rapple and get addicted again for a jump in for a while every now and then.

hope you can make a good "long term player" who comes back if the time has come.
Dont get biased away from peoples opinion, because this game is very UNIQUE and exclusive and has not at all any alternatives to go for, if you want to play this kind of gameplay.

so the demand for this game is much larger than the support for it. would the support or the player count/quality be higher, then this game would also be easier to get into.
but dont get scared off, just be one of those pioneers keeping this game alive every now and then.

This game is a gem with fantastic gameplay and balance.

Once you're good at the game you will also get good at rallying your team to vote kick the toxic players. Until then, simply mute the toxic players. Most of the players are normal and are genuinely supportive of new players.
