But then I saw the weapons, alien eggs and infestation. Yes, this is absolutely inspired from Natural Selection 2.
Thanks, I will follow this project. But I definitely doubt it can even compete with NS2's or NS1's gameplay. It risks being more popular though, maybe the NS2 devs can figure out a way to steal parts of the future playerbase?
I did indeed and it makes me think more of Battlezone than NS.
"Would it be a successor to NS2 ?"
I will wait to have more informations about Silica but it could be what some of us are waiting.

Natural Selection 2 as the base but with reworked RTS elements from Carrier Command and Command & Conquer.
The game's atmosphere is very similar to Subnautica but in space instead of in the ocean, it especially copies the open-world philosophy.
Honestly I would not say it would be a successor to NS2, more like a premium multiplayer successor to Carrier Command. The only con about Carrier Command is that the gameplay is super long. So if you think NS2 rounds are too long you should stay away!
Thanks, I already have ONE poorly made nostalgia milking attempt in my hands.
RTS/FPS hybrids been around for years long before NS1 was even a thing XD
